Customer Reviews about The Clarksville Police Department:
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Apparently the police were called to my home for an animal noise complaint. My dogs were quietly sleeping in their kennel on our back deck. There are 3 neighborhood dogs that bark constantly all night long. So I can see how they were mistakenly sent to the wrong house at 2:15 a.m. They immediately began banging on my windows, doors, ringing the bell repeatedly and yelling; but never once identified themselves as police officers so I would know it was safe to open up. All of this commotion of course woke our dogs who then started barking wildly. One of the men even climbed the stairs to access my back deck, further upsetting my dogs. Still not knowing these were police officers, my frightened children ran upstairs to hide. My son looked out the window and a man was looking back at him shining a flashlight and yelling, "Open the door right now. We see you up there." Still no words to identify who they were. But my son said he was pretty sure the man had a uniform on. I called my husband, who is a soldier to see what I should do. I ended up peaking through the front glass and seeing a man wearing a black uniform. He was shining his flashlight directly through the glass so with the glare I could not make out any uniform detail or name tag. I opened the door slightly, stuck my head out and proceeded to speak. At which point another uniformed individual ran toward me and started yelling loudly. He was noticeably angry but I did make out that dogs were the reason they'd been called. I began to try to explain that it was the 3 neighbor dogs. He cut me off several times with "ma'am, this and ma'am that". Several times I was told to be quiet and shut up. They grew very hostile toward me. Telling me "you were very close to getting multiple citations for taking so long to open the door to an officer, failure to keep animals quiet and other numerous silly sounding phrases". Their body language and escalating anger seemed extremely off. Fearing my safety I quickly announced I was shutting the door. One of the uniformed men then pushed against my door trying to get in. He had his arm inside trying to grab the knob. Only when I announced I had a gun and would protect myself did he let go and allow me to shut the door. They continued yelling at me through the door. They said I was definitely going to get a citation now and that they would be contacting animal control. Then they disappeared. They seemingly just walked away. They hadn't arrived in a vehicle, which also seemed very odd. Unfortunately, by this time, my poor dogs were going crazy with fear. But I was forced to wait a bit longer before I worked up the nerve to go outside in the dark and bring them in. This whole experience was beyond horrible. So many things were not done in the appropriate manner of a respectable law enforcement officer. I did nothing wrong and was treated like a criminal. I was made to fear my safety around individuals who I'm supposed to be able trust above all others. My children are terrified and confused. Why is this kind of treatment allowed to continue? Something needs to be done to change it.By Niki Grahl, July 24, 2017
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆These people are idiots. They waste tax payer dollars to arrest people who are using medicines that are non-addictive alternatives to opiates.By Dominic Auten, April 20, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★This afternoon my sons and I were stopped near the autozone near USAA on 41A for having a frame on the license plate of our silverado. The officer, T. McCraw/6088, offered a warning in exchange for giving my sons stockings filled with toys and coloring books and other stocking stuffers. Officer McCraw was incredibly professional and personable, and demonstrated the best qualities of the Clarksville Police Department (CPD). The fact that the CPD is going out of their way to do community policing during the holidays is outstanding to me. Thank you Officer McCraw and all CPD officers for all that you do.By Travis Miller, January 17, 2017
